At MLS, our class sizes
average 14 students to one teacher. None
of our classes exceed XX students, so
every child is guaranteed individualized
attention. Students and teachers in
small class settings form faster and
stronger bonds than those in classes
with more students. Such bonds lead to
improved student participation and
engagement and thus, success in the
classroom.
MLS also evaluates each student for
special reinforcement or enrichment
needs, and teachers strive to meet those
needs by challenging students according
to their unique abilities. The faculty
at MLS is trained to teach and model
proper behavior in a caring atmosphere
conducive to optimal learning.
All MLS teachers and staff share a
strong Christian background, which
results in close-knit camaraderie and a
family-like atmosphere. MLS staff,
administrators, pastors, parents,
teachers and supporters comprise a
community committed to providing a safe,
loving learning environment and a
challenging curriculum.
MLS teachers – all of whom are Missouri
state-certified – consider their
vocation a calling and not just a job.
More than 80 percent of our teachers
have been with MLS for 15 years or
longer, and more than 35 percent have 20
years or more experience with MLS, which
emphasizes teacher development. The
school regularly provides continuing
teacher education and professional
development opportunities.
The bottom line for students is a
devoted, well-qualified staff that
enables each student to expand his or
her God-given gifts within a strong and
caring Christian environment.
